Kathy Reed was a volunteer and now utilizes our services.

NKC volunteer, Ray Salyer, talks about his friend Kathy:

“I met Kathy Reed a long time ago when we both volunteered at North Kent Community Services when it was located at Our Lady of Consolation. She sorted clothes. I took inventory of the furniture donations.

Now, I see Kathy sometimes when I volunteer at the NKC food pantry on Mondays. Even though she’s had a good job, she’s also had her difficulties and is a client now. But she’s treated just the same.

Kathy is a kind, Christian lady. I’m always glad to see her and give her a hug when she comes to the pantry. Sometimes we talk about the past. We think highly of each other and have always been close. Kathy’s been a good friend all these years. And it all started with volunteering here!”
